Tina would you mind checking to see if this car is suitable for my caravan please? I've been just enquire with the owner and here are the numbers, I wish I were confident to work it out myself, sorry to have to ask.
Skoda fabia estate 1.6 year 12 plate
1679kg
2679kg
1-900kg
2-810kg
I hope this is what you need.

With regard to the shower, there is what looks like a shower tray and somewhere to hang a hose but I can't see anything else. I'm such a novis! Thanks for your super help. Wait to hear back before I reply to car seller.

What is the cars kerbweight?

Petrol?

Cars unladen kerbweight = 1090kg ish? With a max tow of 1000kg

Thats a bit close to the kerbweight in my opinion so you should be looking for a caravan with a max laden weight of 950kg.

Just spotted your caravans 1090kg so 100% match for your car and it exceeds the cars max towing weight.

You need a bigger car to tow that caravan.

A focus size or bigger, The Fabia is more a Fiesta size.

Hi Steph, sorry but that still only gives you a maximum tow of 1000kg and your caravan is heavier at 1090kg so a definate no no, I think you should stop looking at Fabia's as I don't think you are going to find one that will do the job, as I suggested before you need to be looking at an Octavia, Ford Focus, Vauxhall Astra size car.
Don't worry about keep asking, I don't mind one little bit.
The shower is the bit where the water comes out in the sink, you should be able to lift this out and it is connected to a hose. If you never get a reply from me it will be because I am away and nothing else.

Hello, it's a diesel. This is all new to me and I don't know how to find out the kerbside weight. I'll take you knowledge on it, thanks. I also don't know what gross laden weight is. This is all new to me and it's terminology I've never used. Sorry.

The kerbweight is sometimes on the logbook (V5C).

If your looking at Fabia's then your going to be close on the kerbweight, but the other issue is they are limited to towing 1000kg max and your vans over that.

You need a bigger car.

Hi Steph,
You obviously like Skoda's, we do too, but for some reason they seem so much lighter than most other cars.

I would like to talk to you about something else, but not in public, can you get in touch by email please address is: carerrobatgmail.com

Tina

PS: you need to change the at for the symbol.

Is that the 2004 - 2009 Astra Diesel?

The kerbweight is likely to be under 1350kg. So not suitable to tow 1400kg although it would be legal it wouldnt be a good match.

If you read through this thread you will see the information you need to work out the towing match. If you come back to us with the car's kerbweight and max tow limit and the MTPLM of the caravan we can do the sums for you in a few seconds.

Come back with the weights Johnny and we can work it out for you.

Unfortunately without the full details of car and caravan we can't give any sensible advice regarding the outfit match. We can look up the details of many cars and caravans but it is still essential that the owner verifies the information is correct as there are so many model variations available. Many cars are available in petrol or diesel versions; manual and automatic; saloon, hatchback or estate; lots of different trim options and different versions in different years. Caravans are slightly easier to find the information on but even then there can be different models over the years that each model was produced.

If you can't find the details of your outfit let us know the details of model etc and we'll try to look it up for you.

Rob
