I am returning to caravanning after a long absence and suppose that I shall need to fit towing mirrors to my Land Rover Freelander TD4. (Bailey Ranger 500/5)

Is there a problem of these clashing with other vehicles' mirrors in the narrow street of some towns, or in country lanes?

Any advice on suitable mirrors?

Hi Colinj

I tow with a Frelander like yourself and use suck and see mirror's(stick on),  they are not the biggest mirror's you can buy, but they can be adjusted using the car's remote so ther's no  need to keep winding the window's down to adjust or move when they vibrate like my other set clip on one's, hope this is of some use to you

We use the cheap one's that clip over the outside of the mirror think they were about £10, i also leave the blinds up because being higher you can see right though the van.

Iv'e never hit anyone's mirrors (touch wood) but i guess if i did then i would also hit the van

I use 'suck it 'n see' mirrors & love them. There's no vibration to speak of and they're really easy to fit & adjust using the car mirrors.

Would recommend them to anyone

I also use the suction ones, very convenient as adjustable on car mirrors  - but found they were impossible to fix on in the rain so now carry at set of clip on ones as well

I use the Reich Excellent View mirrors on my TD4.  I find that there is very little vibration due to being able to tension the straps.

It happened to me once several years ago.  A van coming the other way got too close - destroyed the mirror.  (Makes you jump too!!!)

Cheers
