Got a mate who works at a Subaru garage. I think they are meant to be reliable but parts and servicing etc are expensive. If nothing goes wrong, cool, if it does, ouch!
Driven a 2.0 xt since may 04 and towed with it since july 06. Money spent on repairs.....zilch! (Except for a seatbelt which the dog chewed.)
Servicing is reasonable and a lot cheaper than main dealers for many other brands, only cost about £120 for the first sevice and quoted £260 from a main dealer for the big service but got it done from a scooby specialist for £200.
Fantastic reliable car!! I've heard the parts are expensive but they are so reliable it's not often you have to fork out for them
It is the best of all worlds, sensible estate, capable soft roader or demon wheels capable of impressive acceleration for such a big car (it's a wolf in sheeps clothing.
The mpg isn't too bad either as long as you drive it sensibly and probably only a few mpg less than a bog standard big family estate. Unfortunately, it's so much fun to drive you can't help putting your foot down and playing. Massive grin factor.
Oh, the towing....very capable and superb on grass or soft wet ground with the kerbweight being the only down side if you have a heavier van.
I love it. Buy one!
