Hi

we have an Elddis wisp 510/6, and presently tow with our v70, however we are both having a mid life crisis and are seriously thinking about buying a Mazda Bongo.

We fancy a bit of fun...does anyone know if it will tow our elddis???

Thanks "fingers crossed"

Hilary

Go to www.bongofury.co.uk for all things Bongo related.  I think they are quite heavy from what I remember.  Also consider www.elgrand.co.uk.

Hils..in a nutshell ..diesel 2.5 yes ..2.0 petrol is a bit iffy in my opinion as it's a large motor to pull 1180kg caravan it will work hard .. depends on the torque..

they do a bongo conversion you know .. Scotland tho'

Hils,

I am a bongo owner and am taking mine out for its maiden voyage on Friday I will be towing a 22ft abbey gts 416

I have read on bongofury.co.uk (from Ian the supreme being himself) that 1600kgs is the Bongo's maximum towing weight.

mine is well below that

Oh and by the way, you gotta get yourself a bongo they are so much fun!! so easy to drive the kids love it....and all the kids mates love it too !!!!!

Hi hils,

it towed very well, it was very stable, the revs were nice and low, the low temp was well maintained and I was pleasantly surprised at how well it went on fuel...

it pulled quite well up the hills too...I am very happy with it, and it was great throwing all the gear in...so much choice now...even hubbys golf clubs ame this time....

its a really nice tow vehicle.

but nothing beats my old Omega im afraid !!!
