Can anyone advise on a good car to tow.  Currently use husband X5 but on a wet weekend camping gets very grubby and when hes away i can't use camper as i have a C3 1.4HDi which will obviously not pull so looking to change this.  I have looked at Citroen Xsara Picasso and Vauxhall Zafira.  I like the thought of being able to see over camper so would like an MPV of 4x4 though this would increase running cost as i ferry around 3 active kids.  Any advice really appreaciated.

Focus C-Max 2.0L TDCI - 40-50mpg and pulls like a train, even with a Caravan - Got a Focus Myself, but Dad has one of these as well as an X5, and he says's the C-Max feels and tows better :)

Discovery. Good high viewpoint, stadium seating for kids to get a good view and will tow a house.

Honda CRV diesel. New style looks more like an ordinary car. Our fourth CRV. Cheaper than true 4x4's, reliability beats the lot, 100 kg noseweight but load weight not up to the bigger heavier vans. Superb engine with plenty of torque. Good second hand values. Downside, you need to work the gears and a slightly unforgiving ride on bumpy roads. Value for money? can't beat them IMO.
