Hi all, I have just changed my Rover 75 CDTI for a Chrysler pt Cruiser 2.0 L petrol, I tow an Eccles Moonstone van, has any body out there towed with a similar vehicle, and if so please let me know of your experience, I realise that this may not be the best match, but I have been towing for 20 years, and am hopefully capable of driving to the outfits limitations, ps holiday season is fast approaching, and I wish all caravanners and tenters a smashing time.

Chris

Not wishing to put you off but a neighbour of mine has a PT Cruiser and she told me the economy is awful, you might want to check that out. Personally I would always go for a diesel for towing, much more grunt!

Hi Chris

I had a PT before I was a caravanner, smashing car, roomy comfortable, nippy, but I swapped it for a Jeep because the towing capacity was 1000kg max.

I've just run a check HERE and it reckons the Eccles Moonstone is 545Kg too heavy for the PT Cruiser.

I'm no expert, but I would seriously check its capabilities.

Mine was all black, chrome all over I thought it looked the Dogs Bol*o*ks.

HTH

Paul

ive got a PT Cruiser as well

2007 2.4 LE Auto petrol in silver with all the chrome bits

brilliant cars to drive and tow with

OK so the fuel consumption aint great - but who cares?

its a great car.

i tow my caravan with it and it does it no problems at all

my previous 2000 Kia Sportage struggled with it and my 2001 Renault Scenic nearly died trying to pull it empty

the cruiser does it with ease

not sure how a 2litre would cope but you could at least try and see how it goes
