Hi all,

This may seem a daft question to some people, but I am a newcomer to mobile caravaning! Having bought and restored an old caravan, she is now ready for a wee holiday. my question is..... Do I need insurance to take her on the road? what I'm getting at is we have to have car insurance (amongst other things) to legaly take a car on the road, so is there a similar requirement for caravans? I have fully comp car Insurance.

I hope someone can advise me.

the only silly questions are the ones not asked

yes you do need insurance,not for own as such,if it comes off on site and hits another van the cost would be high.while towing you are covered by your car insurance for any damage.you MUST tell the insurance you about to tow.
