Hi, my parents have just boughtb their first van which is a Lunar Sunbeam 1993. I have advised on them buying an ALKO 3004 as I have one fit to my Abbey Oxford 1997 and find it great. On fitting the stabaliser to the Lunar I noticed the hitch travelled quite a way round to the left and the right whereas the Abbey doesn't. Is there a reason for this and is it safe with the 3004 fit to the van. I have noticed some older type vans do have a large travel left to right but more modern vans dont.

Any help appreciated as I wouldn't like to put them in danger.

Paul

HI Michael, thanks for you help. Looks like money wasted as its now fit to the van and apparently the Lunar does have a rotating shaft. Surely the stabalizer must help in some way from stopping the snaking as the van goes more side to side on snaking rather than going up on two wheels then onto the other side two wheels, or am I wrong.

yes it will still work but will loose some of the force applied by the pads if it turns to one side,if you think about it the hitch can only turn slightly anyway because it will be stopped by the ball neck itself and pads will still be in contact with the ball.i would be inclined to add a blade type as well for reassurance.
