The match between car and caravan is perfect in accordance with a mix of European standards. However, according to the British Towing Code the percentage (loaded caravan / kerbweight tow car) is 80%.

The towing performances of this Renault with your Avondale are perfect (performance index = 93 km/h or 58 mph).

You may expect very lively performances from this outfit. On flat roads it's easy to come along, in which case top gear is seldom applicable.

On motorway inclines you will be able to come along quite nicely. On most steep roads you have sufficient power to keep going. On hill starts there will be more than enough power to get going, provided the wheels have traction.

Does anybody know who to believe about towing figures. Looking at Towcar.com and the site above. They give two different kerbweights for this car.

So I entered my car details into both sites. Towcar.com says 1454kg and cuddles-abelgratis says 1648kg. The kerbweight in the VW handbook says 1648kg. So if I just took for granted what Towcar said then I would be running on 100% ratio with my current van.

So R A Blenkinsop you need to look a little further into this. You know the weight of the van but you need to know the weight you will tow. MIRO. Then find the weight of your car. Either in your handbook or from a main dealer. Then divide that into the MIRO and you will have your on ratio.
