Hi all, Supposed to be off to a camp site tomorrow (26th sept) but just checked the weather reports and it sais 10 mph winds with 25 mph gusts. Basicly what i would like to know is if its safe to tow a van in them wind conditions, i have only towed the van twice befor and one of those times is when i collected it from exeter back in august. The car is a 99 Vectra SRI 140, and the van is a 18 foot ABI Award Globestar (1100kg). Thanks in advance..
Quick replies needed,
You should have no problems at all in those conditions, but as always the advice is keep the speed down, make sure your nose weight is sufficiently high whilst still being legal, and pack your van well.

Towing in wind is a caravanners nightmare. But the conditions you state should not present a problem.
It is good that you are aware of the conditions that alone will make you more cautious. If on open roads/motorways etc watch for cross winds especially where the hedge line stops and also coming out from under bridges, these situations can cause side ways gusts. Just be aware and take your time.
Back home again. Stayed at a place called Little Bodieve Holiday Park, in Cornwall. Nice site, pitty had to come back today tho as the club house was opening tonite lol..
The van towed nicely thru the twisty lanes. As Bill said elier in this topic, I had no proplem and the van felt very stable.
Thanks again to the people that replied to my original question.
