OK so I am beling told that if the injectors go in the the Mondeo they cost 1000 and have to be done by a Ford garage as its computerised.  Does this not apply to the Octavia.  I have a brilliant mechanic who is really reasonable but if I have to take it to the Ford garage then I won't be able to use him.  So what one is the cheapest to repair.

I doubt that there is very much difference. I have said before thatt my son bought a 12 month old Octavia which had to have a new clutch and flywheel a month later, but did not say that the reason he replaced the old Octavia was that the Aircon went and needed a new compressor ( apparently not unusual ) the cost would have been about £1200 from either skoda or none skoda places so he replaced the car as it was cheaper. My Brother has had endless trouble with injectors on his 1.9tdi ( audi not skoda) but he likes the car and picks up an Octavia on Wednesday.

Both cars are as likely as each other to go wrong and if the problems are major both are expensive to repair. My Mondeo has been faultless ( up to now ) and the service (ford main dealer ) cost me £107 in September.
