 we had a16 petrol piccasso pulled ok but changed gears alot so decided to get a 2.0hdi piccasso found it was a lot better. as others say the 1.6i has a towing limit of 900 gross trailer weight but a 2.0hdi has 1300 gross trailer weight, you may have to change your car as your insurence will not be valid and also breaking the law

Bob if you click on the link I posted you will see the new ones are 1300 kg not 900 now so he won't be towing illegally.

Just to clear the point. Any Picasso 1.6 and above can tow 1300kgs and you will not be breaking the law to tow to this limit although you will struggle!!  Hitch max is 80ks

I should have said all 1.6 Picassos since 2006 can tow max 1300kgs.

I tow our Abbey 516 GTS vogue 5 berth with our 53 plate 2.0HDI picasso with 105 000 miles on clock. It pulls well considering it only has 90bhp, and the vans MTPLM is 1300kg (max for the picasso), obvoiusly it wont win any drag races but at the end of the day, thats not what it is needed for.  Dont think i would like to try with a 1.6 petrol though, I think you would need to be high up in the rev range all the time to keep the thing going, unlike diesels that have good bottom and mid range torque.
