I had a Santa Fe from new in 2003 and went through 2 clutches in 50k miles. Hyundai replaced the first as there was a "known design issue" but refused to replace the second. I have never needed to replace one clutch in my life let alone two. I assume that they have addressed that issue by now. The Kia seems to be the one of choice by many att he moment. Me, I went for a standard estate that would do the job, less tax and more fuel efficient.

Uncomfortable, badly built , handled like a bathtub.... i could go on and on!

We've been towing our provence with a santa fe since dec06 and it has been great so far. It pulls like a dream and it's our main car - OH drives it to work every day, about a 65mile round trip and he finds it very comfortable. I take it to work if the weather is bad and OH doesn't need it and in the heavy snow thursday week ago it handled perfectly and I felt very safe driving it on very slippery compacted snow. Each to his own I expect.

Hi Mickey

Due to get mine 1st March (Santa Fe 2.2cdx )...test drove Sportage Titan first it now has a 7year warranty and was going to order one. . but the following week I test drove the Santa Fe and in my humble opinon it was a much better.buy....time will tell. 5 years is still a good warranty and the dealer is only 4 miles away so roll on 1st March.

We test drove a Santa Fe last year as we like the looks, warranty, finish etc-but it was awful, my wife was almost car sick, it was very bouncy almost as if the tyres had been inflated too much.

Also tried a Discovery 3, fabulous but a bit bigger than we need.( and expensive!)  Freelander 2 very good but overpriced and not convinced on Land Rover reliability yet.

Test drove a Sorento, and bought it, the demo car was up for sale!! Superb car.

Its of course down to personal choice.

thanks for or your comments

have been driven both sorento and sante fe

must admit liked both but am beeing draw towards the sante fe on looks, and more choice in colours (don't like the different colour wheel arches and bumpers on sorento which only leaves black or silver) and the 5 year cover
