Just got a tow bar fitted. Went for a local fitter in Bletchley and very happy with the Westfalia detachable tow bar.

However, when I attached my trailer the indicators now give a beep whenever they are used. I've found out (by removing a bulb) that the beep doesn't occur when the bulb is not working. Now to me that sounds like the wrong way round? Surely, the beep should happen when the bulb is blown?? Or is this some sort of safety feature - to remind you you have a trailer attached?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like it is working fine to me.  The buzzer is there to tell you that the indicator on your trailer is working, some people prefer a warning light on the dash that flashes when trailer indicators are working but they both work the same way.  Its when it dosent beep that you have a problem.

Hi Jp

This might sound daft but i have been told its also to remind you when going round corners (when indicating) you remember you have a trailer or van on the back. I know most people will remember their towing a caravan but i have still seen some scrapes along the side of a lot of vans so maybe we are forgetful

Told you it might sound daft.
