Hi All,

New to this vanning lark, and have a couple of questions.

My car is 1425kg giving 1211kg at 85%, my van weighs 1095kg. so I'm assuming I can put 116kg of stuff in the van. ( is that correct )

What I'm wondering is if I load 100kg of stuff in the car does that mean I could add 85kg of extra stuff to the van. So long as still below the maximum whatsit weight of the van.....

Cheers

Is the van weight the miro or the mtplm, if it is the mtplm then no you carn't load it up to your cars max towing weight. You can only load your caravan upto the mtplm. So if the 1095 is your mtplm you have to find out your miro, then the difference between the two is what you can load the van up with.

Never load your van more than the mtplm. Sorry if sound's abit confusing I'm not the best person at explaining thing's.

I'm sure someone else will be along to give abetter explanation

So is 1211kg the mtplm,if so then yes, you are correct in saying you can load the van with up with a max of 116kg of equipment.

It's the MTPLM weight of the caravan that you need to know, the difference between that figure and the MIRO weight gives you the CAP (Clothing and Personal Effects) or payload allowance.

Assuming that 1425 Kgs is the kerbweight of the car, compare the MTPLM of the caravan to this to work out what ratio you are towing at.
