Hi, we have been struggling with the extended mirrors on our "53" plate citroen picasso for far too long now! They are the type that attaches to the excisting mirrors by the mirror casing using two rubber bands. The problem we are having is that the top of the mirror is angled further back, so when the additional mirrors are on they aim towards the floor and cant get enough adjustment! Is there anyone with the same problem? I am thinking off getting some of those that stick onto the glass itself, so you can adjust them with internal adjusters but dont know anyone that has tried them. Has anyone got any, are they any good??
Cheers for reples. Which milenco mirrors do you use Peter? Have had alook about and there are a few different ones. One of the pairs i have are milenco with the rubber straps (got a pair off a mate, found another pair in second van), and they worked great on my old 306 estate but useless on the picasso, they go on well, no vibrating about or anything, just cant get them aimed up high enough! Have been to local caravan shop today and had a look at those "suck it and see mirrors" look quite good, but can see them folding in with abit of wind because it doesnt take alot to manually adjust the mirror glasses with your hand (not alot of resistance in electric motors),and as these type stick to the glasses?????
I might have to try putting a spacer pad on the lowest edge of the mirror casing to try leveling my mirrors.
I tried my old mirrors with my Xsara - they worked fine on a Civic and on an Accord, but they just wouldn't adjust for the Xsara and the rubber straps are too short. So I bought a new mirror for the drivers side, was going to get a suck it and see but friends who've tried them didn't recommend them.
The new mirror goes on ok and is reasonably steady, but frankly I have a better view through the car's own mirror.
I'll have to buy some more, I guess.
Anyone recommend any that have long rubbers and actually give a good view of the road behind?
