Any tips/advice?

What do you tow your Ranger with??

we've also got a 620/6 and we tow it with a 2.2 dti Frontera, great for muddy rally fields but also great for everywhere else.  Can't comment on the Renault Espace as not had one but I'm sure there'll be someone along who has some experience of the car

I have a feeling the Renaults have a peculiar issue with gross train weight, ie the maximum weight of the car plus the caravan.  It would be worth checking out the figures.  I know several peeps on here have got letters from Renault confirming there isn't a problem but I can't quite recall the exact models that were affected.

I think the Bailey van is superb, very spacious.

We have a Citreon C8 MPV. Make sure you get a deiesel so that it has the torque at low revs. Apart from steep inclines we have no problems and the whole outfit is very stable on both Motorways and other roads.

Thanks for all your info - I have actually checked it out at www.whattowcar.com and it is a good match.

Can't wait to try it out now - only 5 days to wait (picking car up tomorrow)!!

Hi Wendy,

The Renault Espace has a huge weight, we had an old shape one, 51 Reg, was ok until it went wrong, then really began to despise the car with a passion.  In the end, the electrics just kept on cutting out, apparently the Renaults are well known for this.  When it happened to me when I was in the car with the kids, that was it i'm afraid.  In the end we traded it in for a 54 reg mondeo which is fantastic.  Damn Espace broke down three times to the garage on the way to be part exchanged.  Honestly, I've never seen my husband sign papers so quickly.

It was a shame as the car has blighted our views on Renaults, and we've had three before over the years with absolutely no problems, however, never again for me!!

We tow a Ranger 550/6 with the Mondeo, and also have been known to use the Zafira (not the main car for towing though).  Hope you like your caravan, looks lovely from what i've seen fo the new 620/6.
