We are thinking of getting a trailer for our camping gear.  However we wondered where you put the trailer when you get to the campsite.  Do you leave it hooked up to your vehicle, do you leave it on your pitch or do you park it somewhere?  We are from London and generally assume if things are bolted down they'll be nicked.

We used to put our behind the tent with a hitch lock on it.

You should be fine. as said 99.9% of campers are great. You will get the odd one or 2 but if we thought about them we'd get naff all done.

Dont' worry about it gwt out there and have fun.

The main thing to worry about getting a trailer is that even with more space you still fill it up and will need more later on. we had an estate, roof box and a boxed up trailer............Then we brought a caravan.

if it was ours i would buy a wheel clamp.a lot harder to steal.

I'm happy enough to leave mine in the sites car park.

Quick to remove and re-fit.

Takes a bit longer to remove and re-fit but like the fact it also covers a wheel nut/bolt meaning a thief can't just remove your wheel and fit the spare.

Put one clamp on each wheel plus the wheels have 2 locking bolts each.

Plan to buy a hitch lock as well - preferably one that can stay on whilst towing.

My trailer is a bit on the large size, so not always room on the pitch with having a large tent as well!
