Absolute cobblers.  

Honda supply both a fixed ball and a swan neck removable towbar as part of their standard accessories.

It can be ordered as a kit with either plain (no electrics) single, twin or Continental plug harnesses.

Det trailer hitch w/o electrics fitted price £275.  Part No 08L92-SWW-600

ps.  I have a Witter fixed bar with Alko ball - no problems!

The reason given to me by my Honda dealer is that a fixed towbar partially obscures the no plate,albeit minimal,and they would not fit it themselves to avoid any comeback in the unlikely event that the police took action. I had the same response from a peugeot dealer when I wanted one fitting to a 306 a few years ago.

If you are talking about a CRV then that is one hell of a size tow bar!!

The number plate is at least 12"-18" above the bumper!!

Have read all the above comments with interest. We already have the oldest version of the Honda CR-V and are looking to upgrade to the latest version. Can anyone let us know how they feel it is performing as a tow car. We have been extremely pleased with the original CR-V

   The bottom of the number plate on my CRV is only 400mm from the ground ,I don't Know where you get 12inches above the bumper from unless youre referring to the front one!!

Agreed the CRV i referred to is the CRV2 .
