I think you mean single or double electrics ?

You will probably only need single for a trailer tent I believe unless you intend getting a caravan ? Single electrics means that the lights on the trailer tent will get the power from your car .

Double electric charges up your caravan battery and runs your fridge whilst travelling

Skatty is correct.  If the price difference is not too steep, it may be worth going for twin electrics - you might just get bitten by the bug and wind up towing a caravan.

Hi, thanks Skatty and Davidaw, I know nothing about how much power a fridge and lights take and at the risk of sounding totally stupid will it not drain the car battery to use only single electric. We may want to take a small TV with us from time to time.

On single electrics you cannot run a caravan fridge, on twin electrics you only power the fridge when the engine is running so you do not flatten the car battery.  If you will only tow a camping trailer, then you will only need single electrics.

If you plug stuff into your car like a telly or cool box while you are camping you will have a flat battery in the morning, nought to do with single or twin electrics on the car. If you want to run electrical stuff while camping you need to be plugged into the site electric hookup.

What sort of TT are you getting, does it have a fridge installed & does it have 1 or 2 plugs to plug in at your car's towbar? obviously if it has 2 you will need twin sockets on your car, although you are legal to tow on one(12s) socket which works the lights the other(12n)socket is for working your fridge only while driving & charging leisure batterry which is what you have on a caravan & some TTs.

Sorry ,I worded my answer wrongly :(

I meant that single electric powers you rear lights /indicators /number plate light not he lights inside the tent .

I am pretty sure you only need single electrics for a trailer tent as you dont have a fridge running inside the trailer whilst travelling ?

When you get to the site and if you want electric you need to plug a hook uo cable into the site electrics
