Hi Andy  just looked in my freelander handbook maximum tow hitch load (nose weight) unbraked trailer 140kg (309 lb) trailer with over-run brakes same pge 252 if you have handbook

I can't swear but I seem to remember the Freelander 2 has a limit of 150kgs
