Hi All
Bit new to all this so bear with me.
I've got a peugeot 406 estate 2000 diesel and have been looking at getting a coachman mirage 500/5, I've tried looking on the whattow website to see if the car can take the weight but it doesn't list the mirage.

Anyone have any advice on this please.

hi find the cars kerb weight and to be safe the caravan needs to be an MTPLM of 85% of this.

Do you know the weight of the Mirage? I think you should be fine towing it with the 406.

In its time the 500/5 was reckoned to be one of the lightest caravans of its size and class. Mine was a 1990 model and I towed it quite happily with a two litre Nissan Bluebird.

Why don't you contact Coachman and see if they can help you? Otherwise you may have to spend a few quid and go on the Towsafe website,

We have a 91 Coachman Mirage 500/5. Pretty sure the weights are 900kg unladen and 1060kg laden (ish).

We tow it with a 1.9 Passat TDI no problem at all. I think your Peugeot would be fine.

Hi..we had a 550/5 mirage 1991. We towed with renault 21, pug806 and Zafira 1.8.  I think it weighed about 900 or there abouts.  We never had a prob with it. 

We uprgraded to a nice shiny new Avondale 6 berth a couple of years back, while we love Annie dearly...our coachman has a firm place in our hearts!
