Does anyone tow with a new model (2006 onwards) RAV4? I'm considering buying one (loads of good deals on at the moment!)and would love to hear any recommendations or issues.

From my understanding, the towbar height issue (fouling the rear door) is no longer an issue with the latest model.

I used to have one and to be honest wasn't that impressed. It only has the same tow weight as an normal saloon car 1500. Our engine blew up just out of warranty  - parts are really expensive.

I've not got one, but I have noticed that they don't have a spare wheel, just a can of tyre weld. I don't know about you but I wouldn't like to tow without a spare.

We have 2006 2.2 diesel, It seems to tow fine, have just got back from France.

kerb weight is about 1650 kg and we tow a Bailey Pageant Bordeaux.

We have a proper spare wheel that is attached to the back door, as a car it has been great,no probs and very versatile, i have used it daily for the last 2 years
