Hi all, i am close to changing my car, and i am wondering what the Hyundai Santa fe is like as a tow car, and driving in general. I have read some reviews, and they seem to be favourable, but would like to hear from anyone who has one. Is the diesel automatic a good tow car, and what are they like on fuel consumption, or should we go for the petrol auto. We need an auto as my wife has back problems and cannot use a manual. We are thinking of one about 3 years old

we have the santa f'e 2004 2.7 V6 auto.and love it.does the job with ease.the 5 year warranty is a good one too,tried and tested.you do need to service each year for it to be maintained.

I have 08 2.2 diesel cdx ( manual) have only towed 400 miles this year

and I am delighted with it. approx 28 - 30 mpg towing 1300kg solo 38mpg

in summer... winter now around 35mpg.

as long as your van is not too heavy you should have no problem with the auto

I know it has a lower max tow.

Us too, the car looks nice and has a good warranty etc. Drove it and hated it.

Bought a Sorrento instead, bigger engine then Hyundai and cracking towcar.
