We have the same as 664DaveS - Sorento and a Pageant Burgundy. Our Sorento is an auto - second auto we have had (previously a Honda CRV with a lighter Lunar Solar)
The Sorento is a brilliant towcar - and wouldn't have anything other than an auto. Its so simple manouevring. No clutch and throttle combi - just hold her on the brake, and she creeps... Mind you, we also have a mover on the van (couldn't place her on our drive otherwise) - now thats the dogs.... wouldn't be without it...
We tend to achieve 30ish MPG solo, and don't lose too much when towing. At 1400kg all-up, the Sorento doesn't know the van is on the back.

------------- The Cornish - we do it drekkly.
