hi,yes you can and will get pulled by the police, its happened to me I was required to follow the police to a weighbridge even though I could give the officer the kerb weight of my car and the mptlm of my van 1660kg for car and 1400kg for van after car and caravan were weighed I was allowed to carry on my way, the plus side is I now have a official certificate signed by the weighbridge staff and the policeman so if I get pulled again I can show this and be on my way with a razz to the bobbies.(politely of course)..
Jjim,
Forgive me if I'm wrong, but your certificate counts for nothing; only that at that moment in time your vehicle and caravan weighed that amount. Another day, another amount. It may only vary by a few kgs, or it could alter dramatically depending on how much you load into the car/caravan. I wouldn't rely on that piece of paper as being proof of anything. (Especially not if your surname is Chamberlain!!! lol) only kidding!
Hi ,Defender your right, but I normally load van exactly the same way each
time out stopping and readjusting if it dosnt feel right, the certificate of weight
is kept in drivers visor and on at least one occasion has resulted in me been
told to carry on through the checkpoint so it is worth having
