Forgot to say - everytime the injector went it was £300 ... 

Problems seem to be in the 130bhp and not the 115 models.

Later models suffer black smoke due to the EGR valve.

All need to go on the Ford diags at least once to get the latest software and checks done.

the problem is on all tdci models regardless of 115 or 130 bhp from 02 to early 05. having said that a contractor at work has a tdci on an 02 with 190000 miles ...no problems

you need to get the injectors calibrated to the pump they don't have to be taken out its not common knowledge to do this but believe me having sold 2 mondeos both tdci s in the last month both have come back to me for poor running,we have repaired both at a cost of about £50 each,You need a man with a snap on scanner with the right software I can give you a number of the  man who did my 2 but we are up in Leeds,Needless to say i wont be buying any more tdcis to sell on
