I thought you could fit an Alko stabilise to a BPW chassis and vice versa. It is normal to fit Alko to Alko and Winterhoff to BPW, but I believe they are interchangeable, is this correct?
There was a problem with Alko stabilizers and BPW chassis in that the button on the handbrake could be knocked on the big handle and the brakes applied whilst on the move. I know that people have fitted them but i don't no if there was a fix or if it was a certain year or model of chassis that had the problems.
In my original post i was on the side of caution becouse there had been problems.
At the end of the day the alko stabilizer was designed for the alko chassis
& the Winterhoff Stabiliser was designed for the BPW chassis. you would'nt
try & fit a towbar of a land rover onto a volvo without modifying it.
