I have a little 3x4' trailer.  Some of the lights are not working properly, however because the trailer is so small all of my car lights are fully visable.  Does anyone know if I need working lights on my trailer despite the car lights being visible?

If lights are fitted they must be working.

If none were fitted originally and the cars lights & number plate is clearly visible then no lights are required.

Think it has been a legal requirement for a while for lights to be fitted.

simple answer is yes,side/stop lights and indicators,including illumated number plate at night and two triangle reflectors.

Although your car lights are visible, there is a danger that someone will not see the trailer at night.

This could lead to them rear ending you due to judging their braking based on the rear of your car and not the trailer etc.

Lighting boards used for bike racks would be a cheap and quick solution.
