Hi,
I have completed my refurbishment on an '88 Abbey Stafford and will be taking it on its first holiday in a couple of days. Being new to caravans (converted camper), there are a couple of things I need to check.

1) Whilst towing, do I need to switch the caravan panel to 'car battery' (I do have the grey connection) to keep the fridge working.

2) If the caravan is set to 'car battery' does this also charge the leisure battery whilst travelling?

Any help is always appreciated!

Rich.

The leisure battery is charged whilst driving & the fridge will run on 12volt while hitched to car with engine running(& obviously grey 12s cable connected)This is normal with caravans. If you can get no specific answer as to the switch you can only try it.

having had a 85 elddis probably with a similar Zig panel? the caravan/car battery switch is for use on site if the van battery runs flat when there's no mains you can plug the car in and switch to that (if the cars 12s electronics allow it, some switch off below a set voltage via a voltage sensative relay)

So when towing it doesn't really matter, the van battery will charge and the fridge will cool the beer!!
