Just thought I would leave a small review about the mirror that I bought for our holiday to South Lea Caravan Park Pocklington (not far from york) I travelled from Burnley in lancashire to South Lea which is a mixture of motorways and A roads and had no problems at all, it took seconds to fit. I will be getting the passenger side mirror now when shop gets them in.(Shop only had the flat ones in stock and they recommend the convex for passenger side).

I don't think this matters as they are universal but I tow with a Mondeo Estate 55 plate.

Also if you want to adjust the mirror you can do so with the electric mirror on your car as it is attached to the mirror glass and not the mirror housing which will be handy on the passenger side.

Hope this helps

Ian

I use the suck it and see mirrors and find them to be ok. The plus points are simplicity to fit and ability to adjust using the car mirror remote adjuster.
The negative points are the small viewing size, the car mirror is obscured, likelihood of mirror coming off (happened to me twice in about 4000 miles of towing).

Once you get used to looking in them they're fine.

I've been thinking of getting a suck-it-and-see for the passenger side because it can take me about 15 minutes of clambering over the passenger seat to get the view right, and even then it's rarely spot on.

I just wonder, though - if you adjust it using your normal mirror adjustment, it's it a bit disconcerting that the view in the door mirror then isn't correct? I know you're not using that one but it's just natural reaction to glance in it occasionally.

I tried the suck it and se specifically for the passenger side so that I could use the electrical adjuster - it fell off every time I used it - hence the fact it's in the  garage. Also I didn't like the way it obscured the existing mirror and the actual head is quite small and they're not cheap.

Maybe you have got a faulty one which could explain why every time you used it it fell off

Ive used ours up and down the motorway and all over and they have never moved but i have posted on here before that we do not attach the elastic safety strap as i think it would do more damage to the car if it came off on the motorway and kept bashing the side.

You've got a point there plastic pig.mine fell off the very first time i put them on.luckily it was while we were stationary on the drive.the elastic was around the mirror and it gave the door quite a bang.i can just imagine what it would do whilst in motion.i think i'll do without the elastic from now on.ive done thousands of miles with mine and they've never budged.(touch wood)

Their suitability depends on how resessed your mirror glass is from the mirror housing.

At first (trying them at the dealer) on our Zafira they appeared great as I loved the ability to adjust them from the drivers seat, but in use I found that they (flat for drivers side, convex passenger) impeded too far much of the main mirror and also that the position you had the mirror adjust to either the towing mirror or the main mirror was wrong.

Perhaps because of the inset of the mirror I was pressing the arm against the housing, but since January they have fallen off at least 6 times (thank goodness for the elastics and no damage to car dispite the bang when the mirror hits).

My mirror shape is unsuitable for the milenco areo mirrors (lost one of them in January) so I now have Milenco clip over mirrors (E marked too) and got the pair for under £12.00!!!  They are not great and wobble a bit, but I still have the whole main mirror and at least I have not thrown too much money down the drain.

I've been using the suck-it-and-see mirrors for the past two years without problem. Does take some getting used to when you try and check both the mirror it's stuck on and the mirror itself but compared to the shaky, strap-on mirrors that came with the van, they're good.
As for leaving the elastic off!!!! Much rather have a scrape or dent on my door than a death on my conscience. I've had stones thrown up that have taken out my windscreen on two occasions, the thought of having something the size of a mirror hitting a windscreen or motorcyclist doesn't bear thinking about.
