We are looking to buy a 5/6 berth caravan in the nxt 12 months. I know the X5 will tow anything really but i am looking to change my c3 to a 7 seater but need advice on the best 7 seat car (thats fixed 7 seat ie not Zafira, C4 Scenic) and caravn match as its soooooo confusing.

caravan matching can seem tricky, but if you know the weights of the car and the caravan it is quite easy. pick a car. pick a van. find the kerbweight of the car, divide by 100. multiply by 85. to give the recommended 85% match weight. then compare this to the MTPLM stated for the van you choose. If the MTPLM is less than the figure you have calculated then the van is less than the recommended 85% match.

simples.

struggling to think of anything with 7 fixed seats short of a van, disco, or small minibus.

What everybody forgets about using a 7 seater car/ 4x4 is the crumple zone is now removed, if involved in a rear end accident for those seating in the back seats.
