A 1.8 Zetec Focus diesel(new shape) is it ok for towing a 1200 kg caravan?

What's its kerbweight and max tow weight Dixc?

Its legal approx 90% match.

With only 113bhp available you will know its there and might have to change down on the hills.

As long as you are not in a rush and tke it easy you will be OK. If you push it fel consumption will drop a lot though.

Ford list it as Gross Vehicle Mass - 1950k

Max Towable Mass 1500kg.

But have learnt to be sceptical of manufacturers figures,was wondering if anyone has experience of actually towing with one - on paper it looks ok!!!!

hi,dont worry,you should be ok. i used to tow a elddis whirlwind with a 1.4 foucus,as long as you take your time to get used to it ,it will be fine,you will find you will use you gears a lot and also use a fair amount of fuel.

we have bought a focus 1.8 diesel zetec to tow our amara 380/2 will find out if ok in july, we also use an astra estate 1.6 for the last two outing struggles but gets you there we used it no problems to tow our pullman camper :)

i tow with a 1.8 tdci focus titanium 08 .caravan is 1150 kg lunar ,no major problems ,as someone has said i have to change down on long banks ,but all other times car performs fine
