to be honest most modern diesel common rail engines have flywheel trouble, I know nothing about cars but read plenty of reports about them. Now to say you need a new clutch flywheel every 20K miles is rubbish. There are reports of flywheels going at as low as 40K miles and as high as 140K miles. Mine did 85K miles and repair was £550, dear enough but it came with 20K mile guarantee or 2 years, so going by what you say I will never need to pay for a new clutch again as it will not last the length of the warranty.
The amount of mondeos you see towing when you are at a campsite speaks for its self, I think they must be the most common towcar on the road, and the reason is simple, It will tow most family sized caravans with ease, will hold all your luggage and sit 5 people in comfort. You get 30mpg towing and 50+ when not, so there you have it a good general all round car, and with a 3 year old car costing less than half it new on the road price, how can you complain
I knew a guy who tried the rubber spring assistirs he wasnt very happy with them. You can buy replacement springs and dampers, there is a link on one of the forums and although expensive I would think they will perform better.
