hi we are wanting to fit a stabiliser to our van+car the bar type, we have got one but there is no instructions with it, could someone help in advising us where abouts on A frame to put the blade bracket, thanks

if the a frame doesnt have the holes on it on the drivers side you have to fit the towbar bracket and the stabaliser and you will see where it sits

The cavavan "shoe" is clamped around the A frame. Under no circumstances should the A frame be drilled. The bracket on the car bolts behind the tow ball if you have a bolt on ball, otherwise you will need to get a special bracket that clamps around the neck.

Personally, unless you have all the bits, I wouldn't waste money on a blade type stabiliser. I had one and changed it for an AlKo because it was such a pain to fit. In comparison between the two, well there was no comparison, the AlKo is worlds apart.

If you have a stability issue, always sort that out before fitting a stabiliser. The stabilisers are not intended, nor are they safe to be used to cover up an inherent instability issue.

Having seen the study by the University of Bath, I wouldn't waste my money on a stabiliser, but save it towards retrofitting the AlKo ATC. Having read up on the ATC, it is an active device that drags a snake out once it has detected the early signs. The stabilisers merely cover the early signs up. There are even some who would say this is a dangerous practice as it removes the "feel" the driver has.
Personally, I am firmly on the fence as I see it, a stabiliser makes for a more relaxed tow, and a relaxed driver is a safer driver provided the false sense of security generated by the stabiliser does not tempt the driver to go too fast. Unfortunately it almost always does.

Hi I use mine  but have never towed without it and I feel safe ,but it may be all in the mind .I feel safer therefore more relaxed and less stressed.

i use one and it feels like the van pitches slightly less with it on , but could all be in the mind as others have said
