There was a thread the other day discussing contents and I think 100 kg was the weight of the basics like waste masters, gas bottles etc so it would essentially mean carrying pretty much everything else in the car.

You haven't posted the figures for your kerbweight, the vans MTPLM etc so hard to judge but the more you go over 85%, the less stable the outfit is likely to be.  Having said that a badly packed lower ratio outfit would be unstable too!

You have to be careful of the car's limits as well, most cars have a 500 kg - 600 kg payload including passengers luggage etc so depending how many of you are going to be in the car, you could be very close to the car's capacity too.

Lots to think about really.

I'm  taller than you at 6'4" and have no problem in our Ranger. They are very light for the size.

Don't forget that the boys will grow very quickly, especially the 12 year old and may soon outgrow the bunks.

Why not try a 5berth double dinnette like the Ranger 500/5. Use the rear bed as a double and the front as two singles. only 1268kg MTPLM.

Also many teenagers, especially boys, like to sleep in a pup tent as ours did. 

The is ST TDci is type approved for towing.

The ST petrol versions Eg ST 220 and the older ST200 are not type approved.

Having said that I'm sure some people have fitted towbars from the standard cars to them. Not sure how that affects insurance etc.

The Puma isn't type approved either and no one makes a tow bar for them but I've seen one with a towbar on. As its a Fiesta floorpan I'll bet the fiesta one fits but I'd like to know the implications of towing with a non approved car.
