Hi all. Im all new to this caravanning lark and need some advice.
I have a 53 berlingo 2.0hdi and was hoping to get some advice as to what i can tow , or experiences people have had with theres. I would also like to know if it would pull a 1992 lunar premier 415, whick has a mtplm(???) of around 1050 kg.
Any help would be appreciated , as I dont want to kill my car if its not suitable to be used as a tow vehicle !!!!!!!!!!
Its got an 1100kg tow weight & a 70kg towbar load(noseweight)I used to tow an 800kg Eriba with the 1.9d 70bhp version no probs so yours with 90bhp should be ok with your caravan of choice.
Hi,
I had the peugeot Partner version of this for three years
towing a Bailey Ranger mtplm1079.
The 2.0l engine is a cracker...towed very well,...wish I still had car, load space is amazing.
Used to get 48mpg solo,35ish towing.
ENJOY.

The Citroen Berlingo & Peugeot Partner are identical except for badges & trim, they come down the same production line in the factory in Vigo, Spain.
These days the build quaility of Citroens & Peugoets are identical. Things have moved on since the 80s.
Why then was the 1.9TD engine (Peugeot) the only decent part of my 96 Xantia (Citroen) ? and why do Peugeot 407's seem to run forever.? Check out 'Honest Bob'
I saw a Citroen Berlingo people carrier 2.0 diesel pulling a Bailey Senator Indiana 1500kg MPTLM near Carlisle on the M74 dont think its legal to pull 1.5 tons but there you go some vanners dont care just as long as the wheels turn
I had a Peugeot Partner in at work the other day and I have never seen anything so tinny twangy rattly squeaky in all my time ( 25 years ) in the trade............
At least it passed its MOT...........

Years ago I had the 2.0 hdi Picasso fantastic car but also didn't like wet grass so I also fitted the mover. When I got the car the dealer told me it had a Ford engine I now have a large Citroen Relay van for work and that has the same engine as the Transit both vehicles have been brilliant.
Things may have been different in 96 with the Xantia, but if honest bob says the Peugeot 407 goes forever then so will any Citroen with the same engine
