2000 Sportage is petrol, made under licence from Mazda, i had a 2001 plate run it for 2 years pulled a Avondale Kestrel 1100g no problems, you should get about 24/25 mpg towing, they are a bit basic inside mine was the Sportage S it was on steel wheel centres, but the better models had alloys and some had leather interiors.
