OH is looking to get new tyres for his Audi and has been told by a couple of people (a while ago) to try Costco, are they still quite good and reasonable? His usual garage are quoting £150 each. Has anyone used costco recently?

My brother and his family buy all their tyres from Costco. He buys Michelin tyres and they are much cheaper than from a tyre centre or garage.
Our nearest Costco is more than 50 miles from here so I do not use them, but I find that tyres are usually cheaper from a garage than from a tyre centre.
I`ve used Costco for several years and they have been untouchable on price - until this year.
I got a pair of Michelin Premacy HPs (235/45 ZR17), fitted and balanced for 12 quid less than Costco at the specialist we use for our truck tyres. The fact it was nearer, quicker and they make you a brew was a bonus!
Costco only sell Michelin these days and do the fitting and balancing too. They used to sell a cheap brand as well 'Kormoran' which were cr4p but now they just do the one make and thats it,
well i usually find my tyre prices are the same as costco even for michelins so it depends on how much your tyre centre/ garage are making on the tyres i guess
We used Costco in Edinburgh once as an emergency, but every other time we use e-tyres. The same michelins that we got from costco were £20 cheaper including fitting, and it's a mobile fitting service, so I get the guy to come to where I work.
Order tyres on-line, usually get fitted the next day (or next again day for specialist tyres e.g. when we had smowtrack vredesteins fitted). Leave the keys with reception, fitter gives me a call when he arrives so I can tell him where to find the car, I wander down just as he's finishing, check everything, sign the docket, and go back to my desk no more than ten minutes later.
Thanks for your help everyone, eventually found a good deal at halfords online (never thought I'd be able to say that!). Car booked in for Tomorrow. We found we weren't really saving much by travelling across to Costco (and I know I'd never stop at just buying tyres!! and it's so near to Ikea - just have to have a 'look'!) Probably saved a small fortune by not going to Costco.
I agree with you about Kwik Fit, once in Edinburgh we got a puncture and went to the branch near Murrayfield and before we knew it we were needing another tyre and new shcok absorbers, no thank you we said just the tyre repair.
