Hi I'm new, You will have to excuse me if I get this wrong
I'm about to fit a TowBar to my Citeron C4 Picasso which will have CanBus [TSP] And I was wondering if any members have had any experince of it kicking in?? And did it really help to bring the van in line, Its not something I would like to Experience but it would be nice to know it is there and it dose work or at least helps in the event of a snake.
towbar easy to fit 20 min, wiring is cambus needs 7 way bypass and 2meter pre wired socket to make it easy,if got reversing sencers then angle mounting plate needed to clear vision, wire up passenger sidelive supply behind side panel note sometimes easier to bring new live from battery and wire every thing though hole behind lght cluster towing electrics relay will go through hole, wirimg 1-2 hours
Kito, I am wondering if you are confusing "dynamic stability control" with Canbus wiring?
Canbus: I have recently wired up a new Fiesta and used a dedicated wiring kit which came complete with all connecting plugs to clip straight into the existing Ford wiring loom. The hardest part for me was actually removing (lots of !) trim panels as instructions were not entirely 100% clear. Did the job though and all works well! The Citroen should be a similar job.
DSC: When it comes to "dynamic stability control" I have had a couple of cars with it fitted. They are now quite sophisticated and on the handful of occaisions when they activated , it just made the car safer to drive. Albeit i have not towed (as yet) with such a system but I really would not worry if you stick to the common sense advice from this site and the Caravan Club for example when setting up for towing. These systems should never reduce your safety

you should use a wiring kit specifically designed to cope with Trailer stability program _(TSP) so that the whole system can function correctly. I would search the web for Canbus TSP, I am certain this would focus in on your Citroen system. It looks as if it I who was confused ............... my apologies

The trailer stability system simply knows that you have a trailer attached and works the cars stability system to suit, so if you got into a bad snake and the car was starting to get thrown around it would kick in and apply braking etc to the correct wheel to try and sort it.
Hi I did not explain my self very well, I am not fitting the towbar my self, It is being fitted by my local towbar fitter. And it is a genuine Citeron wiring loom
What I was wondering was if any members had any experience of it kicking and working Did it do what it says it dose??
I have added this thread. There are others some with Video.
