have a 08 plate zafira sri with xp. i am looking for a tow bar to fit to it but one that also has the electrics for a caravan, i guess someone must do one to fit it.
ideal would be a detachable one and also not to cut rear bumper ! most sites state not for xp model, but i have seen some people with them on this model of car.
ideal would be to speak to someone that has the same car and has found a solution

thank you.

`we have the same car on a 57 plate, we have a swan neck tow bar with a bumper cut. when we bought the car this was the only option, as detachables and fixed balls dont fit because of the body kit.

you cant see the bumper cut as the fitter did a good job, but there is only limited clearance between the hitch and the bumper so you do have to be careful when hitching up.  If you have the 1.9 150bhp deisal they tow really well

I have a cdti design with a towbar, i asked the fitter about the xp as i nearly got one, he said they have a different bumper, more like the vxr.

They have to have a lot of cutting to fit a towbar he was told and it wasnt recommended.

I have towed with the zafira, one thing I will suggest is dont get too close to the 1500kg max towing weight. My van is 1500kg mtplm, I packed it very light so nowhere near that and the zafira was still very unstable on the motorway.

So bad that I have swapped our other car out for a new tow vehicle as I was scared to continue using it.  And yes it was well packed a hitch weights correct etc etc.

with regards to all off the above ( i started this post question ) i now have the towbar and it is fitted and yes i had to do a bumper cut after all of this but the bumber cut is right up under and for normal viewing you cannot see it and when the towbar is off apart from the small electric socket also tucked up you can not really see anything, as the car has a rear body kit it also helps to cover the hole, not perfect but if you dont know its there you would never know. got their in the end. thanks.

£500 for a towbar ouch..

£150 fitting sounds expensive, MIne was £150 supplied and fitted, Mondeo with a cheaper flange towbar but if you check the link below the bars only £175 for yours.

Fitting time 60 minutes.
