I believe the choice of stabiliser is to match the weight of the van. We have an Elddis Whirlwind 2 berth so light weight. We have an alko1300 fitted. For a van over 1300kg you need the next size stabiliser which is the 3004.
Hi rabbin8, the alko comes with their own bolts, dowels ( to hold damper in placewhile changeing to new hook up), and a coller to fit most if not all vans, the bolts fit through the existing holes in the draw bar, If going to fit it your self, Read the instructions very carefuly before you attempt to take off the old hook up. hope hats of help.
------------- If everything runs smoothly then I must have done something wrong
If in Doubt Check it Out.
Rabbin, I would not attempt this job unless you are very experienced they are tricky to set up and if you get it wrong the caravan brakes might not work and also the stabilizer effect could be also effected. Also make sure you have an ALKO tow ball they are different measurements of neck & distance from tow car(only slightly) but came make the difference between damaging the tow vehicle on very tight turns to the caravan coming away from the tow vehicle completely.

IMHO not true. A very easy, simple job to do, just take your time and watch what you are doing. Remember to follow the instructions and you will be okay.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
Piece of cake, fitted a 1300 to my Elddis Wisp a couple of weeks ago. I used a tapered drift to knock out the rear bolt that also holds the damper in place so that as the bolt dropped out the damper was caught on the drift...if you get my drift!
I re-used the original shim on the draw bar which increased the diameter to the required 50mm.
10 minute job, nothing to set up afterwards, no effect on the brakes.
I changed mine on a rally field in long grass. Not something I would recommend as it took me ages to find a dropped nut. The rain wasn't ideal either ;-)
