On our third Mondeo now and have just found out through a friend that if you lock the car and leave the window open if you double click the lock button on the remote that the wndows can be remotely closed!  Doh!

I just discovered the same thing last week on holiday, after having my Mondeo 18 months.  I don't think it's unique to Mondeo's though. My friend with his Zafira showed me and I know my Dad's citreon C5 also is the same.  Great trick but I'm a bit worried the battery in the key might wear out.

you can do it by holding the key in the lock unlock position to save battery.you may have to set your  windows to do this by opening / closing each window as soon as up or down release switch and hold again for 3 seconds. you can also set door locks to lock once you start moving. and you can set to unlock drivers door only press again for all doors.all the blurb in your handbook. quite a few tricks in there.

Yes we find this very useful on ours – I don’t think our T reg Mondeo had it though.

The other really worrying thing that you can do with a mondeo is lock yourself out as happed to us at services with caravan on the back! The key was in the ignition and we were all out of the car our DS reached in and fiddled, acidently pushing drivers door hand to locked and the windows then go up automatically! and the car is fully locked a friend of ours shouted at DS to get its arm out before it was crushed and there were looked out!.............

Moral of the story is not to leave keys in car when you get out!

We have discovered that , if you leave the keys inside the car, after a while the car automatically locks, with the keys still inside!!!
