Just had a fantastic time on the Isle of Skye this summer. Went to Kilt Rock and here someone witnessed a camper van reversing with a loaded cycle rack on the back, no one watching the driver reverse. hey presto the cycle rack left a lovely dent  and a great shade of bare metal showing in the the side of my car. The driver apparrantly got out and looked in wonder at the result of his usless driving. He then did the decent thing got back into his camper van and drove into the distance. Unfortunatley the witness couldn't get the number. It as left me with a bill for the repair and a sour taste in my mouth.

Please don't rely on judgement or reversing cameras/sensors. These are only to assist you reverse. If your have a larger than normal rear and in doub't get some one to watch your rear!

Hi millsburrough,What a loathsome act, hope when he takes off the bikes, he finds his camper van has good bit of damage to it, bet the air was blue for a while, if it was short time you arrived after the hit and run, think i would have got witness name address phone number, then headed for Skye bridge to see if you could see any camper van in area carrying bikes, and owner inspecting the rear for damage to bikes or van, get his number, have quick look at bikes for paint transfer or other damage, report it to police, (the guy dose not deserve chance to exchange details after leaving scene of accident) they take a dim view of hit and runs, hope it was not to costly to pepair.

If everything runs smoothly then I must have done something wrong
If in Doubt Check it Out.

Why not post this in the motorhome section and try to shame this individual out?

It could have been a lot worse - there could have been a person or child hit by him/her.  I ask the oh to get out when I am reversing with van or horse trailer on, just in case.  There are always blind spots.
