If you want a sound investment do not buy a car of any description! Especially a new one hehe. As suggested by another post under the santa fe 4x4 shock ££££ thread, i used this http://www.whatcar.com/car-depreciation-calculator/ and discovered that a desirable luxury 4x4 will lose less value in percentage terms than a cheaper brand, but in real hard cash terms it loses loads more due to its higher initial purchase price. This is without even considering running costs.... I had a Kia Sportage for a while and it towed really well, was quite good on diesel and drove ok too. I think the ix35 should be even better than the old Sportage as it replaces the Tucson(Hyundai Tucsan was the same car underneath), and usually newer designs are better. Solo it should be fine as an all rounder, with 4wd for towing in wet fields (if you buy a 4wd model). Just make sure its tow weight limit is high enough for you and check the max towball weight is high enough too. Oh and remember - if you are worried about losing money, do not buy a car! Or shares in banking! Or a house! (Last 2 items are a lighthearted joke - but all cars are going to cost you cash)
------------- Why am i doing this instead of camping??!!
