Hi guys

After some advise here. I currently have a Skoda Octavia Vrs 2009 and yesterday i put a deposit down on a brand new Octavia facelift VRS in White, she looks beautiful! Now i had the towbar + dedicated electrics fitted to my current model in July at a cost of £550. The dealer has told me the towbar can be removed and fitted onto the new car when that arrives. Is that ok?????

The only other thing thats bugging me is she wont arrive until Jan/Feb. + the VRS is an amazing towcar, got me out of a muddy field at mallory park a couple of weeks ago with zero wheelspin whilst various Mondeos were digging there own trenches hehehehe i shouldnt laugh.

I just swapped my red 2009 vRS for a new white vRS.  Great cars - had to wait from May till September for mine.  Cracking deal, new car has spare wheel, maxidot and a sunroof but is still less per month by quite a bit.

I had a new towbar fitted.  Dealer did offer to swap it but I preferred a new one.

My dealer gets  a local specialist to fit their towbars.

As you say great towcars ... have towed with the new one twice now and while it feels a bit tight it is every bit as good as the old one.

I can't imagine it's going to be much cheaper, by the time the old one has been removed.

May as well get a new one.

Well the dealer has spoken to the garage i had my original towbar fitted and he has quoted £260 which for me is a hell of a lot cheaper than a brand new one at £550. IainM I have been offered a great deal on the car including a few extras like xenon lights, maxidot, parking sensors. I couldnt justify that ridiculously expensive sat nav though, my £100 tomtom does the job. Am i right in thinking the FL is 25kg heavier
