You can't beat a big 'un. Size does matter. I'd go for the estate.

I've got someone trying to flog me a Mondeo Tdci 130 Estate. 54 Reg with 122k on the clock & 11 months MOT, anyone give me some idea what it's worth please. I'm not sure if they're model specific but this one has roof rails built in & air con.

£2000 max, there are loads out there with less mileage

If you decide to look at it make sure there is no loud ticking noise when pulling away in 1st, or a sound like a cement mixer full of gravel

The first could be the injectors need in re set and the second the duel mass flywheel is on the way out both rather expensive to fix

All Mondeos suffer rear break caliper problems, and if they have not been changed the rear chassis bushes

Thanks for that Bob, he's asking over £3,000 but prepared to take £2,500. I think it's best to leave it where it is considering the miles it's covered. Someone at work this afternoon reckoned the injectors can cost £400 each, is that right? It's very tidy but it'd be just my luck to buy a lemon.

Are the rear axle bushes you mention the same ones that used to go on most MOTs with the mark 4 Cortinas? I've still got the tool in the garage for winding those in & out.

I asked the trim/model level today. It's a Zetec, No towbar,(not really needed) 11 months MOT, 3 months Tax, Cruise control, Air Con, Heated screen, DVD player. £2,000.

Picked it up this afternoon Bob, I don't know how accurate the MPG showing on thedash is but this one's showing 50.7 mpg!! It also goes a lot better than I expected, I've known the vehicle for 2 years & hadn't driven it until I picked it up so it came as a surprise. As I only want it for work it's a cracking vehicle for less than 2K, a few marks here & there but it's done 123,000 miles. Thanks for your advice.
