Would really appreciate info and advice from anyone who tows a caravan with this vehicle? What do you tow and what is your experience and difficulties if any? Thanks, Tony
Hello we found when we towed with our 1.6 quashqai we was very disappointed, we did although have a very old single axle and it was not badges so fairly unsure of the weight, we found the pull to be very low ,very rarely travelled in 5th.gear, although solo we found in 5th gear it felt like it wanted to go in to another gear ie 6th to which it hadnt got, we know run a 2ltr antara and love it ,only my opinion though. Goodluck.
I looked at the squashed car and decided it was not really a tow car. Didn't have the weight or the power. There are plenty more good tow cars on the market.
The 2.0L diesel may be a better tow car otherwise legally they have to tow less than their kerbweight which I think is about 1500kg. Braked towing limit is only about 1400kg! We considered one but then decided to buy a 2.0L disel Mondeo which has a higher braked towing limit.
I tow a bailey ranger 460/4 with this car. I find it a comfortable ride and able to cruise at 60mph on a motorway with no real issues, at times on long inclines I need to drop to 4th gear. Fair acceleration allowing to over take slowish lorries (59mph). Puling away from junctions the car gives good acceleration.
