I had one for a couple of years, a 55 plate that went back to the lease company with 120k on the clock. We pulled our van (1300kg) across france a couple of times with it, the only problem is its weight, a bit light for our van and sometimes a bit twitchy unless the teenagers were on board with all the gear. Also my main gripe was lack of storage space for oddments like cd's!, a real problem with a family.
They're basically a focus with a volvo shell as they are owned by ford, the 2.0d 136bhp is a ford based motor and goes like stink! we did however have it overheating on the mediteranean hills whilst towing, the computer knows this and starts to cut out the turbo, then the aircon, great whilst going up a long incline in 40deg heat!!
It wasn't the most reliable car I have owned, many trips to the dealer for, turbo control valves, diesel particulate filter, 3x wheel bearings, DMF and clutch at 65k.
