Hi All

Due to pick our new van up in a couple of weeks, a 2009 Abbey GTS Vogue 420. Our tow car is the 2007-2009 Rav4 2.2 D4D, anyone here have any experience of towing with one? With 150kg pay load in the van we will be bang on 85% and I know the manufacturer states that this model is rated to tow 2000kg max.

Cheers

Jon

No experience of towing with one, but drove one as a company car for a couple of years.  I didnt have a choice of the car I had and went from thinking it was a hair dressers car, to having quite a lot of respect for it.  If your towing at 85% I dont personally think you will have any problem at all.

During the snowy weather two winters ago mine was taking steep hills in its stride, and leaving some of the bigger 4wd's standing at the roadside.  Probably something to do with the weight to road contact, but I'd take one as a tow vehicle anytime.

Brilliant cars considering hair dressers use them.

Hi Minimoto
We have owned the 57 reg XTR version for approaching a year and tow our Bailey Bordeaux with a MIRO of 1300kg ( 80% ish ) with it.
Can honestly say it has not missed a beat , took a while to get used to its rather low gearing but all in all not just a superb tow car but a great car all round .

Was also a godsend in the recent snow

Fuel wise it returns around 45ish mpg solo and 28 when towing
